VISUAL VEINS

Like a lot of people I always assumed some people are born visual creatures and some aren’t. However, only until recently did I change my tune. Yes, some folks may be more visual than others, but at our human core, everyone is visually wired.

How? Since birth we’re trained to recognize imagery before text. Is why we’re taught pictures/their meanings before learning to read. Similarly, it’s why visual aids continue to facilitate understanding well into adulthood. Is why we use visual aids when presenting, we send screenshots to communicate concepts, and why for most of my career I’ve quickly found sketching an abstract idea far easier to illustrate or helping another to do the same. This is all : )
