NOSTALGIA IN THE NEW AGE
I've been working on a career move for the last few months and as a break/mood boost/exercise, I recently designed this mini poster series I'd fantasized about for a while. Is based on a beloved childhood show Faerie Tale Theatre that brought me a lot of joy/comfort as a kid and adult. From the subtle adult humor to the gorgeous costume/set design, I knew there had to be a passion project. As you can see, I pulled inspiration from my favorite episodes including iconic elements/color palettes to the VHS cover itself, while giving them the illusion of book covers/light nod to The Never Ending Story. Was pleasantly surprised with the result/made me smile.
P.S. One of these episodes was especially unique to me as a kid and as an adult/designer realized it's because it heavily reflects Russian culture. Love adult revelations. Oh and fun fact: Tim Burton also directed another.
