ART BLOCK CHOP
Over the last decade I’ve made great strides to minimize social media from life because while I think it has done great things for business, I suspect it’s generally worsened society. As such, I find my life tends to fare better with little to none in it. That aside, I do belong to a few things one of which is Reddit where I'm part of a graphic design group since I like the dialog, exchanging ideas, and helping people one of which was a graduate struggling with artistic block.
Oddly enough, I had been struggling with the same and when it happens tend to encourage three things: get away from the project, surround yourself with real-world inspiration (movies, museums, eateries, etc.), and avoid design platforms since they'll invoke imposter system. Anyway, recently rewatched a cult/arthouse film from the 70s called Valerie and Her Week of Wonders chocked full of beautiful and dark themes ultimately leaving one inspired albeit a little disturbed. Consequently, was the perfect way to recharge my weekly album exercise and happy to see work flowing again.
